(Click on the picture for a better view. Yeah, not a great pic, better gun pR0n later.)
You might be a conservative if you buy Breakfree CLP gun cleanin' stuff in gallon jugs!
You might be a redneck, too. (Uh...OK. That's real cool!)
Breakfree CLP - It doesn't smell as good as Hoppes #9, but it's great stuff!!!
You might be a conservative, or a redneck, if you know what Breakfree CLP is.
You are truly dedicated, if you know what the CLP stands for!
Keepin' 'em clean, to protect America, and my family, since 1978!!!
Commies take note...
Heh...that's a real by-God Colt bayonet and Colt scope on that puppy.
Oh, yeah...that's a real by-God Colt AR, too!
Mmmmm....evil black plastic!
God bless America!
Yee-Haw!!

You might be a gun nut if you saw that photo and started drooling a little.
I hope this shirt dries soon.
mmmm...Colt!
Hey, looking for trackbacks on your site to send ping to you and jimmyb (for my post today)...so here it is, instead. (((PING)))
Your kind makes me proud to have an unhealthy love of guns and country!!!
Cleaner, Lubricant, Protectant. I think 1st used by the Mighty US Military in Viet Nam to fix the dirt jamming problems of the worthless poodle-shooter. Most of CUG's erudite readers already know this. Asstard dirty hippies excepted.
FYI, you might want to think TWICE before posting stuff like this online. You may be considered a terrorist by the government.
Mmm . . . Hoppe's #9! The preferred beverage of my Glock 17 and my S&W .38 snubnose!
Jeb ref above...a lot of people think the "p" in CLP is for protector...they've been sniffing the stuff and are wrong.
it's cleaning lubricant preservative...
but what would i know? i'm liberal....
besides who wants to deal with personal weapons anyways...gimme weapons of indirect fire anyday...anything smaller than an 81mm mortar and you should be wearing a dress.
Oh sure, that's why when me and my team went out we didn't carry any weapons. We figured that we could run 15 km to the nearest tmp that our indirect fire support could reach with rap round. Dead pool your probablya mech too huh. Dirty liberal leg mech.
Dave D. - Hey! Glad you like it. My wife has her own, too! (She's a badass shot!)
anon - I concur.
MensaB - working on it per my email. Thanks for the input.
damian - Yo. Nice to know us unhealthy types have common interests!
Jeb - Glad to see ya. Of course, you are almost correct (it is preservative). Close enough for gov't work! Good stuff. I use it almost exclusively now. The poodle-shooters are pretty dependable, now, finally!
Ms Data - Welcome! Haven't seen you here before. You have an interesting site. Was going to comment, but not a "team member". Please stop back. Let me know how to comment. I'm probably already on a list, so as Chuck says "From my cold-dead hands..." Gotta draw the line somewhere.
wyatt - welcome to you as well! It is nice to see new "faces" here! Love your site! I (generally) am a fan of law enforcement. My brother is a cop.
Love the Glocks. No SW snubby, but I have a sweet 686! Please stop back!
Deadpool! My angry Canadian friend! ;) Hey, nice of you to drop by. We're not allowed to have functional 81mm motars here, yet. We need a few more Republicans in the Senate, then we have a shot! LOL. As you know, you are always welcome here.
*sigh* I guess I'll just have to borrow a dress from Nancy or Freudz.
Seen either of them lately? :)
FYI- Pool and I have a little history. He's a mixed bag of liberal and conservative (sorry to out you!), and definitely a good guy. He is also (obviously) a military man.
Thank you one and all for stopping.
Big tent here and all...
if i'm mortars...why would i be mech? that's dismounted up here.
but yeah... i prefer tracks (though i've worked with 105 and 155 too)...when it snows higher than shaquille o'neil where you go on ex...you'd like track too.
let the infantards practice digging holes and falling down, and they can have the mortars back IMHO.
although we practice indirect fire far better than they do, i find mortars to be a crude method of delivery and not beyond the infantry's double digit iq's understanding..
not that it matters in the long run for me individually...officers in the artillery aren't busy loading the delivery systems... our charm and intelligence is req'd on the observers end..enjoy those 15 km though...i'll be sure to wave when i drive past in my air conditioned LAV III
CUG -yeah if the canadian infantry can master 81's...i'm sure a few yankee civillian elephants can figure them out under max supervision
Doc - Hey, dude. You must have posted while I was writing. Your site is going great.
To all -
Although Pool and many of us might not see eye-to-eye idealogically (I hope I spelled that right) on all subjects, he does share an interest in blowing things up, and shooting stuff.
BELIEVE me, Pool and I have already had our pissing matches. Trust me, he is worthy to be in this group.
And, he DID know what CLP stood for. Not bad for the "lib" in the bunch.
(Although in retrospect, he did imply I should wear a dress...)
Remember FWD? She added a lot to this site, too.
I just don't want to be homogenous.
One of the funniest things I have read for a while is here; a Tom Cruise interview - Cruisin' For A Bruisin' - 10 Questions With Tommy Can You Hear Me?!?
Kind of reminds me of some "In My World" IMAO bits, as well as a couple of "interviews" on this site. It's even got a really interesting link about the lies of Scientology at the end. That's worth a look, too.
Enjoy.
All y'all come back now; ya hear?
This is turning into a great group...
Hey, did you say Yankee civilian elephants?
Dang Canadians.
Just wait till we run out of beer, pal!
CUG, I checked, your not on the list. CLP great stuff, good for quick shine on your boots too.
Great post, keep em comin'
Nice piece. What will that functionally do that a Ruger Mini-14 won't at half the price? Sans the "cool" look? Some of us are not that wealthy and have to make do with Ruger instaed of Colt. Must be why cars cost so much. If it sounds like sour grapes, it isn't. I'm just shallow and needy.
CUG!
This thing's really haulin' ASS!
Way to go... guns bring all of 'em out!
Nice Blog CUG. I will return, maybe even take an identity, symbolic and full of conjecture of course. Great to know that there are others out there who realize that you can be both Conservative and a UAW member! Speaking of identities... I'm connecting the dots here... CUG...FPG... Hmmmm.... Does Spanky's, Dewey's, Pheonix, or Baggies mean anything? I'm just guessing that I might know you. Rock on!
Zaph - Hey! Thanks. Never tried the boot thing, but I will.
anon - Welcome aboard. Ruger Mini's rock. They are cost effective, and anecdotal evidence shows they can fire faster than the AR. Great guns. BTW - Cars cost whatever the market will bear. But that's a different speech.
DT - Hey, man. Definitely some opinions out there. Gottal love the gun stuff. Glad to hear from you!
anon - Mayhap we do know each other...
Isn't LAV III spelled Tank Target?
Oh, and I wasn't Line Infantry.
Tanks? Are those those archaic devices/coffins that serve little to no use in modern urban ops? See Chechnya.
See M1-A1 vrs apc in both Iraq(u) wars.
See Afganistan vrs Russians during their occupation. Soldiers rode on top of apc so that they could jump off instead of burn alive inside them.
Hey Cug, I haven't seen that one yet have I? Didn't know your wife could shoot that well. Next time she let's my dog's out and they don't come in right away..... Keep up the great stuff.
Cindy
so wait are you pro or anti tanks...cuz i can find arguments for both in all thsoe examples.
wrt CLP on boots....i wouldn't try that..especially if you smoke or know people that do or like to hav efires while camping or hinting..you know..what with CLP being flammable and all....i find Futures Floor Wax applied with a q-tip to be a nice gloss, as long as you don't stand in the sun too long...
Pro tank ,anti-apc, tankers can stay on the track, infantry should be dropped out of a high performance air craft, and killing should be done up close where you can see there face. Ya the floor wax looks good but only for a while then it dulls or get's milky looking. never tried clp we could never hold on to the stuff in the service it was being horded by supply.
you're pro tank for uraban ops? really? why?
i see their use on the aggregate symetric warfield, but when it comes to a city,, yeah i want an APC with a mounted 25 mm cannon and c-6 gpmg coax as well as a pintle mounted c-6 or c-9 and RPMGs as a minimum....the lavs observation variant is actually very slick and very good for urban ops, they can survive rolling over most mines and the infar red and thermal imaging is very effective. i was able to make out soldiers smoking cigarettes with the thermal from 3.2 km away, in detail! take into consideration that the main armament has an max eff range of 4.2 km, and you got some real good reach out and touch capabilities. there is also a mounted radar capability with MSTAR that is accurate in blizzards up to =/- 10 m on the ground...it's a decent piece of kit. we're looking at mounting mortars on them, and maybe even some 105 mm cannons..belive it.
anti apc? but pro airmobile insertion...can't say i agree there...you have more faith in your SEAD than i do. those zsu-23-4s scare the shit out of me..in canada, if an observer doesn't neutralise those first in his training, he fails the course...that's how serious we take it.
LAV III, get used to em. you're higher ups are quite impressed with them...they'll be buying them. i too am pro track but look for all of that o be phased out over the decade to come...canada is literally getting rid of all tanks in favour of recce and surveillance heavy coyotes...again not a wise move..
oh and i think your marines will soon be dressed same as us. heard they like the digital camo, as do the brits...hey we gotta be cutting edge for something.
wrt clp being horded...fucking bin rats hide anything from me in the Q i know about it...i'm one of those officers that just waltzes in there like i own the joint...commissions...love em...
floor wax does go milky, but it's close enough for the girls i date and saves you the trouble of spit polishing for 3 hours the night before a parade.
try the cor fran if you're wearing the low courters (not sure i spelled that right) just needs some windex and all shined up. I just know when rolling through the street in a vehicle people like to take the high ground(buildings) and shoot rpg down on them. when patrolling it might take a few soldiers out but the rest will be able to duck into cover and not be tied down to a vehicle. nothing wors then getting blocked in by a incapicitated vehicle to be rpg targets for terorists. and dropping in is great the zsu23-4 isn't all that great it was replaced by the 2s-6 with the twin (dang it I forgot the round size) canons and the sa-9 but doesn't matter with a halo jump like i said i wasn't line.
you're brqaver than me. and wrt to the tactics you say making apc's in adequte in close quaters...the same prob exists in tanks, again the seige on the tank column in chechnya is the perfect example ...in summation tanks don't belong any where except on the symetric battlefield which is virtually a thing of the past
