ePostal Contest

Mr. Completely's April ePostal Contest is ON! In a classic redux, “Dots on Spots” makes its return, with a few changes from last year. So let us not waste time...

Download the target (pdf) here: Dots on Spots Target
(Do NOT download the image in this post. It will be too small.)

There will be one (1) target per entry.

DISTANCE
: 25 feet, or 10 yards, which ever is available at your range.

SHOOTING POSITION
: Seated and standing - see next section - How to Shoot It.

HOW TO SHOOT IT: The 10 Left hand spots (the two left-side columns) may be shot seated, and/or supported in any way you wish (bench, bags, trees, 57 Plymouth Furies, etc). The 10 spots on the right side (the two right-side columns) are to be shot STANDING with the firearm in one or two hands, shooters choice - I will be using two hands personally...

Total shots = 20 (10 (left columns) shots seated/supported, and 10 (right columns) shots standing two-handed or one-handed).

SCORING
: One shot per circle. As is standard, a hit only has to touch the edge of the line to count as a hit. Each circle is worth two (2) points. Each dot in the center of the circle is worth five (5) points. There is ONLY ONE point designation per circle; two points or five points. In the case of multiple hits on one circle, the lowest-point hit is the only one that will be counted, regardless of number of hits. A perfect score (20 center dots in 20 spots) would be 100 points.

CLASSES
(as usual, blatantly stolen from Mr. Completely):

CLASS ONE: Any rimfire handgun with no more than a 12" barrel, iron sights.

CLASS TWO
: Any rimfire handgun with no more than a 12" barrel, optic sights, no magnification.

CLASS THREE
: Any centerfire (non-revolver) handgun with no more than a 12" barrel, iron sights.

CLASS FOUR
: Any centerfire (non-revolver) handgun with no more than a 12" barrel, optic sights, no magnification.

CLASS FIVE
: Any revolver with no more than a 12" barrel, iron sights.

CLASS SIX
: Any revolver with no more than a 12" barrel, optic sights, no magnification.

CLASS SEVEN
: Any handgun with no more than a 14" barrel, any sights, scopes, laser, whatever. This class is primarily for target pistols.

CLASS EIGHT
: Something odd that doesn't fit the first seven categories? Bring it on!! Golf ball cannons, 50 BMGs, GE Miniguns, Dylan Aero's, sling-shots. cross-bows, or those fish that spit water drops. We can handle it.

Ties will be broken by the most center dots hit, and failing that, by which target has the most shots closest to the center of each circle.

MULTIPLE ENTRIES: By all means. You can enter more than once, in fact, it is encouraged. Shoot everything you own, and everything you can borrow! Take a buddy to the range, get him entered, then borrow his gun and enter that! The only restriction is that you can only enter once for any given gun, in any individual Class.

You can shoot the target as many times as you like, and send in the best one. Different calibers in the same gun count as one gun. For example, .38SPL and .357MAG are considered as one, as would be .44SPL and .44MAG. Different guns of the same caliber and barrel length can be entered.

Please, PLEASE take a new shooter if you can.

PRIZES
: Free health care from the gubmint!! Ok, maybe not.

SUBMITTING YOUR ENTRY
: Mark your score on each target with a legible pen, along with the class and type of gun used. Don't write your real name on the target, only the name you want to appear in the posted results, as your target may get posted on Mr. Completely and/or on The Conservative UAW Guy websites.

Take a digital photo of, (or scan) your targets, and email the picture, along with:

1. Your score.

2. The name you want used when we post the results.

3. Gun description - Brand, model, semi-auto, revolver, black powder, caliber, barrel length, and type of sights

4. Class: Class One, Two, Three, four, five, six, seven, or eight (but easy on the chipmunks!).

5. Anything interesting or unique about your entry that other shooters might enjoy hearing about.

Email
your entries to cugblog AT msn DOT com.
(DO NOT USE THE BLOGGER/GMAIL EMAIL LINK IN MY PROFILE!)

If you can't scan or send target pictures, send everything else to me in an email, and we'll arrange for either fax or snail mail for the targets.

The rules are subject to revision as needed, should the need arise.

All entries must be received by 11:59 PM on Monday, April 30th, and results will be posted within seven days, or less.

Any questions, comments, or accolades? Email me at cugblog AT msn DOT com.

Of course, be safe and have a great time enjoying a great sport! And TAKE A NEW SHOOTER WITH YOU!!

And as always, a big thanks to my friends Mr Completely and the lovely KeeWee, and Magnum Shooters Supply for keeping me in mind for the contest. I am honored.

Now go throw some lead, and turn some money into noise!!
