Gosh! What a Shocker.

Apparently, donations to the RNC are down.
And yet, the pols can't seem to figure out why.

RNC fires phone solicitors

Fired employees acknowledged that the committee's phone equipment was outdated, but said a sharp drop-off in donations "probably" hastened the end of the RNC's in-house phone-bank operation.
"Last year, my solicitations totaled $164,000, and this year the way they were running for the first four months, they would total $100,000 by the end of 2007," said one fired phone bank solicitor who asked not to be identified.
There has been a sharp decline in contributions from RNC phone solicitations, another fired staffer said, reporting that many former donors flatly refuse to give more money to the national party if Mr. Bush and the Senate Republicans insist on supporting what these angry contributors call "amnesty" for illegal aliens.
"Everyone donor in 50 states we reached has been angry, especially in the last month and a half, and for 99 percent of them immigration is the No. 1 issue," said the former employee.
The RNC spokeswoman denied that the committee has seen any drop-off in contributions.
"Any assertion that overall donations have gone down is patently false," Miss Schmitt said. "We continue to out raise our Democrat counterpart by a substantive amount (nearly double)."
My contributions (as have my wife's and friends' and family) have dropped to nothing.
But that's because we've been scared by "empty political rhetoric" and we "don't want to do what's right for America". Screw you, Bush.

Don't worry though, all is not lost. This will turn things around; conservatives all know that Global Panty-bunching is real!!

Bush Joins the Fight to Help Stop Global Warming

Bad example.

But at least the R's are fiscally responsible!!

Bush seeks $30 billion for (foreign) AIDS program

Rules 'hiding' trillions in debt
Liability $516,348 per U.S. household

But at least we're freer!!

Bush grants presidency extraordinary powers
Directive for emergencies apparently gives authority without congressional oversight

Emergency detention plan: 'This way to the (detention) camps!'

Well, at least the most important thing is the no-nonsense, tough, no-negotiating-with-terrorists stance!!
Like those Iranians and "insurgents" helping kill our soldiers.
I mean, heck, that was the R's trump card in the elections.

Moussa terms Iran-US talks "positive step towards democracy"

Cease-Fire Eyed to Stop Violence in Iraq
U.S. military commanders are talking with Iraqi militants about cease- fires and other arrangements to try to stop the violence...
Oh, wait. Nevermind.

Thank God we voted in a conservative.

You know, it's almost like they want to lose in 08.
And more.

And we haven't even touched on the "fake" North American Union story...

I'm so tired...

Baa Baa, Bang Bang

Thought for the day:

Democracy: Three wolves and a sheep voting on dinner.

Republic: The flock gets to vote for which wolves vote on dinner.

Democratically Elected Republic: Three wolves and 2 sheep vote on which sheep's for dinner.

Constitutional Republic: Voting on dinner is expressly forbidden, and the sheep are armed.

Federal Government: The means by which the sheep will be fooled into voting for a Democracy.

Friend BB sends me this information via Urban -

A person who wears a wireless earpiece everywhere they go to seem trendy and important. Places to spot bluetools include movie theaters, malls, restaurants, gyms, grocery stores and cars.

Bluetool: Heyyy, how are you?

Megan: I'm great, and yourself?

Bluetool: Oh, sorry Megan. I wasn't talking to you, I'm on a call. Bluetooth.

We all know one. Are you one?
I'm out out of the loop because I don't even have a cell phone. And if I did, I'd be polite about it.

Thank You.

A happy, and hopefully for a moment at least - a reflective and somber - Memorial Day to you all.
Let us not forget those who have made the supreme sacrifice for us.

Not a bad time to remember the living who have served, too.

Thank you all, and God bless.

Ummmm...I'll take the Glock for $250 Alex...

Note: In reality, I don't condone my daughter carrying a Glock.
That's why I bought her a 357 Magnum stainless steel Ruger revolver for her 12th birthday.

If I recall correctly, her words on the gift were "Cool!".

If you're a real feminist, you're pro-gun.

End of Discussion? Nah.

I need a new boogy-man now.

From the Timaru Herald:

Global warming debunked

"It is time to attack the myth of global warming," he said.

Water vapour was responsible for 95 per cent of the greenhouse effect, an effect which was vital to keep the world warm, he explained.

"If we didn't have the greenhouse effect the planet would be at minus 18 deg C but because we do have the greenhouse effect it is plus 15 deg C, all the time."

The other greenhouse gases: carbon dioxide, methane, nitrogen dioxide, and various others including CFCs, contributed only five per cent of the effect, carbon dioxide being by far the greatest contributor at 3.6 per cent.

However, carbon dioxide as a result of man's activities was only 3.2 per cent of that, hence only 0.12 per cent of the greenhouse gases in total. Human-related methane, nitrogen dioxide and CFCs etc made similarly minuscule contributions to the effect: 0.066, 0.047 and 0.046 per cent respectively.

"That ought to be the end of the argument, there and then," he said.

It ought to be the end, but it won't.
It's tough to argue against someone's religion.

Places where you DON'T see mass-shootings:

Police stations

Gun shows

NRA conventions

Shooting ranges

Gun Bloggers' Rendezvous

My house

Possible common thread -
Electricity? Oxygen? High levels of self-esteem and a sense of validation? Faith in an all-powerful government?

Hey wait! Maybe it's the presence of armed people who are knowledgeable about, and willing to use, firearms!!!

But that can't be right, because liberals tell me that guns CAUSE violence...

Hmmmmm. Back to the drawing-board.

A Respectable Third Place...

at Wyatt's Weekend Caption Contest.

And yes, it was in poor taste, but I was in one of those moods...

My quote:
Fulfilling the liberals' wet dream, a gay, communist scientist figures out how to combine aborted fetuses and solar power in automobiles to combat global warming. It is also made out of explosive material, as an appeasement to terrorists, and is completely outsourced to countries hostile to the US.

First place, just FYI: In Soviet Russia the car tires kick you." - Rodney Dill

Illinois 10-Month-Old Issued Firearm Owner's Identification Card

"Anyone who wants to own a firearm or purchase a firearm needs a FOID card," Ludwig told FOX News. "I applied for one of these for my son. Now ironically he can’t buy a gun until he’s 18 years old, but if he wants to own one -- which he does thanks to Grandpa -- he needs one of these cards anyhow."

That's how ridiculous Illinois gun laws are.
Don't you feel safer knowing the state government is watching a 10 month old kid, and knows what weapons he owns?
Has this amassing of information stopped one murder, prevented one robbery?
Or has it just cost the law-abiding and the tax-payer a ton of money-for-nothing?

And we all know from history, including here in this country, that governments knowing who has what firearms-wise is a precursor to confiscation.

I am working furiously on the XB-2000 Pantie Unbuncher, even as we speak.

Real Conversation - Lifetime Movies

So the CUG-wife is watching a Lifetime Channel movie with Linda Hamilton as a downtrodden, heroic mom with AIDS, and her son. It even had the stereotypically gay, effeminate, black AIDS-infected social worker with a heart of gold. He was Hollywood Montrose from Mannequin all over again.

Of course, the phrase "You go girl!" was heard more than once several times.

Now, fortunately to the wife's credit, watching Lifetime is a rare occurrence - but she is a woman after all, and so she is obligated by law to watch it once in a while.

So I'm kind of drifting in and out of consciousness; I'm tired, there's poor acting, and of course the predictable liberal slant.

Also, like most Lifetime movies, it is long...

So I look at the wife and say, "You know, I hate to say it, but I really wish she would die faster".

Good thing there is someone in my life who laughs at my lame comments.
My wife is great; even if she occasionally watches Lifetime...

The Faithful Heretic

Here's an interesting story about Reid Bryson. You know, one of the "every major scientists" group that supposedly worships Al Goracle.

The Faithful Heretic
A Wisconsin Icon Pursues Tough Questions

A little background:

Reid A. Bryson holds the 30th PhD in Meteorology granted in the history of American education. Emeritus Professor and founding chairman of the University of Wisconsin Department of Meteorology—now the Department of Oceanic and Atmospheric Sciences—in the 1970s he became the first director of what’s now the UW’s Gaylord Nelson Institute of Environmental Studies. He’s a member of the United Nations Global 500 Roll of Honor—created, the U.N. says, to recognize “outstanding achievements in the protection and improvement of the environment.” He has authored five books and more than 230 other publications and was identified by the British Institute of Geographers as the most frequently cited climatologist in the world.

Not a bad résumé, by any means.
So what does he have to say?
How about this:

“Climate’s always been changing and it’s been changing rapidly at various times, and so something was making it change in the past,” he told us in an interview this past winter. “Before there were enough people to make any difference at all, two million years ago, nobody was changing the climate, yet the climate was changing, okay?”

“All this argument is the temperature going up or not, it’s absurd,” Bryson continues. “Of course it’s going up. It has gone up since the early 1800s, before the Industrial Revolution, because we’re coming out of the Little Ice Age, not because we’re putting more carbon dioxide into the air.”

Maybe we should be worrying about man-made ever-expanding government nanny-statism and globalism instead of temperatures.

Just a thought.

Spite Is A Beautiful Thing

(Try to pick out the spiteful and sarcastic keywords and phrases in this post! There will be hints for those of you who want to vote for Hillary, and/or think global warming is man-made!! Key is at the bottom of the post.)

Tuesday was hot, for early May.
We actually hit 90 degrees.

Of course, my first thought was this was caused by global cooling, global warming, global climate change, elven magic.

Eeeeek! Save me!!!

(Naturally, I had to ignore some facts like it was cooler than average last week, and the other planets are heating up, but hey, that's what new-age hippie religions are all about!)

So because Tuesday is the pistol-league night (although it's just practice until June) I started to load up my guns, along with all the pertinent paraphernalia, into my 4WD full-sized, extended cab, V8, American-made pickup truck.

And then, because it was hot, the loading process was going to take several trips, and I'm a spiteful SOB (no offense, Mom!!), on the first load I started the truck to let it idle while I cranked up the air-conditioning.

I did this for several reasons:
1. To cool off the truck.
2. To line the pockets of oil-barons.
3. To piss off hippies, tree-huggers, and leftist Democratic (and RINO) politicians (i.e. for spite)
4. Because global warming hype is a scam, fake and gay.

It was wonderful.
I felt all warm cold and fuzzy after that.
And then I got to shoot off a bunch of ammo. (I've shot better: 252 rimfire, and 224 centerfire, but still had fun.)

The perfect evening, I must say.

Key for leftists:
Italics = Sarcasm
Bold = Words, ideas and concepts that piss-off hippies and other leftards.

Latest pupdate on Haleigh the fuzzy one (click picture to embiggen):

Still ornery.
Still cute.

She's growing so fast the vet said she needs (expensive!) protein and calcium supplements.
She went from 10 to 15 pounds in 2 weeks!!!

Normally, I would just get rid of something that expensive and high-maintenance, but she's just so darned lovable (as are the other critters we have, of course).

Oh yeah, I almost forgot:
She still hates hippies and socialists!! That's a good girl!

When Some News Isn't News

No surprises here.
Maybe some better headlines would be:

Whiny liberal socialists lose, can't come to grips.

Commies lose; throw expected hissy-fit.

We want demcocray!!! Unless we don't agree with the results.

Police battle anti-Sarkozy protesters

French police arrest nearly 600 people in post-election violence+

Sarkozy's election victory marred by riots
I can't wait for the "we was robbed", "stolen election", "Deibold", "disenfranchisement" cries to start.

I guess whiny-stupid-immature-violent-hippie syndrome crosses economic, cultural and international lines.
See you at the next Democratic convention and G8 summits.

How long until DU or Daily Kos blame Bush?

e-Postal Contest and a Recall

The May e-postal contest (of Mr. Completely origin, of course) is being held over at Free Spirit Mind.

This month is a golf match, and it looks tough! So get the shootin' irons ready, and get to it!!

The target download link and info are here:

E-Postal Match #2 - Golf

Also, likewise courtesy of Mr. C., here is information regarding a recall of certain Winchester 22 ammo:

Olin Corporation, through its Winchester Division, is recalling several lots of its WILDCAT® 22 (Symbol Number WW22LR) and XPERT® 22 (Symbol Number XPERT22) 22 Long Rifle rimfire ammunition.

Lot Numbers containing Letters: XN, YA, YB or YC

Through extensive evaluation Winchester has determined the above lots of WILDCAT® 22 and XPERT® 22 ammunition may contain double powder charges. Double powder charge weight ammunition may cause firearm damage, rendering the firearm inoperable, and subject the shooter to a risk of personal injury and/or death when fired.

DO NOT USE WINCHESTER® WILDCAT® 22 RIMFIRE AMMUNITION WITH LOT NUMBERS CONTAINING LETTERS XN, YA, YB or YC. The ammunition Lot Number is imprinted (stamped without ink) on the outside of the right tuck flap of the 50-round box.

So go check your shelves for this stuff, and make sure you don't shoot any of it, and return it to Winchester.

See you at the range.

Stop the Insanity.

Bread is a relic of olden times and has no place in modern society...
From Stefani Banerian (and a H/T to The Agitator):

Research on bread indicates that:

1. More than 98 percent of convicted felons are bread users.
2. Fully HALF of all children who grow up in bread-consuming households score below average on standardized tests.
3. In the 18th century, when virtually all bread was baked in the home, the average life expectancy was less than 50 years; infant mortality rates were unacceptably high; many women died in childbirth; and diseases such as typhoid, yellow fever, and influenza ravaged whole nations.

4. More than 90 percent of violent crimes are committed within 24 hours of eating bread.
5. Bread is made from a substance called "dough." It has been proven that as little as one pound of dough can be used to suffocate a mouse. The average American eats more bread than that in one month!

6. Primitive tribal societies that have no bread exhibit a low incidence of cancer, Alzheimer's, Parkinson's disease, and osteoporosis.
7. Bread has been proven to be addictive. Subjects deprived of bread and given only water to eat begged for bread after as little as two days.
8. Bread is often a "gateway" food item, leading the user to "harder" items such as butter, jelly, peanut butter, and even cold cuts.
9. Bread has been proven to absorb water. Since the human body is more than 90 percent water, it follows that eating bread could lead to your body being taken over by this absorptive food product, turning you into a soggy, gooey bread-pudding person.

10. Newborn babies can choke on bread.
11. Bread is baked at temperatures as high as 400 degrees Fahrenheit! That kind of heat can kill an adult in less than one minute.
12. Most American bread eaters are utterly unable to distinguish between significant scientific fact and meaningless statistical babbling.

In light of these frightening statistics, it has been proposed that the following bread restrictions be made:

1. No sale of bread to minors.
2. A nationwide "Just Say No To Toast" campaign, complete celebrity TV spots and bumper stickers.
3. A 300 percent federal tax on all bread to pay for all the societal ills we might associate with bread.
4. No animal or human images, nor any primary colors (which may appeal to children) may be used to promote bread usage.
5. The establishment of "Bread-free" zones around schools.

This article was written by B.S. Wheatberry in a desert after consuming mass quantities of yeast bread then realizing his canteen was empty. (seriously :P )

Of course, I'm sure these common-sense controls will be opposed by the all-powerful yeast lobby and wheat barons.
